Ruben Neves and Joao Cancelo were left in tears on the pitch ahead of Al Hilal’s Club World Cup quarter-final clash with Fluminense after a minute’s silence is held for Diogo Jota and his brother, who died on Thursday.

    Neves and Cancelo are close friends and international team-mates of the Liverpool star and were visibly upset during a minute’s silence at the game in Orlando, Florida.

    Before the game, new Al Hilal manager Simone Inzaghi suggested the pair could opt out if they felt unprepared.

    However, the pair opted to play, with Neves paying tribute to Jota on social media just an hour before kick-off, according to the Mirror.

    The pair have been team-mates since 2016, having worked together at Porto before signing for Wolves that summer and helping the Championship side qualify for Europe.
